A random cute cat-dinosaur thingy I saw today. XD

Man today was exhausting. And yet this is the latest I have stayed up in a long time. (It is 11pm here.) Usually I just crash at like 8pm, but today when I got home at 5pm I crashed, so I guess it makes sense.

I am watching Harry Potter and… I really don’t know the title haha. It's the one with Lupin. Its on TV actually, and luckily there is a bilingual feature, so I don’t have to listen to the dubbed Japanese. XD Its not bad really. And I’m not really listening really. I’m listening to the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 soundtrack.

Harry Potter poster. It says "kore ga saigo" or "this is the last".

I went to see the last Harry Potter movie today. ;-; OMG I cried so much. I am still teary. I thought going would cheer me up, and it did, but it made me depressed at the same time. It was a wonderful movie! The music was so beautiful. (Hence me buying the album.) Waaaaa, I can’t believe its done. ;_____________;

I went to go see it in Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City at Sunshine Cinema. It was the first movie theater I saw, lol. I got there at 10:07 and the movie started at 10:20. I wanted to go early to beat the Saturday crowds. The line was really short, and the price was 1800 yen. Yes, that is around 21 bucks. No, that is not 3D, and it did not include popcorn. >.>

The front of the theater.

What is interesting about theaters in Japan is that it is assigned seating, even though the theater was not full. The theater was small-ish too, about the size of the theater at Blue Jay, or a little bigger. (Or about… um… 250-300 seats) It was below the street, and there was a mini concession stand. No movie hopping here—it was a stand-alone theater. And no leg room either. >.< I felt as if I were on an airplane flight. But for some reason I was okay, probably cause the movie was so good.

Waaaa. ;o;

What’s weird too is nearly everyone waited until the end of the movie to leave. No clue why. Because I wanted to get my tears out, I stayed as well.

My theater entrance, on the side of the building.

So I cried at the movie, and I was like “okay, I’ll go to Tokyo Hands and go to Nekobukuro to make myself happy”. For those of you who don’t know, “Nekobukuro” is a place where they have cute little cat houses and you can pet cats. It is 600 yen. (Like 7 bucks XD) In Japan, families often can’t have pets. That's how you can get people to pay 600 yen to pet cats. Lol. “Neko” means cat and “Bukuro” aka “Fukuro” means bag. It is a play off of the city’s name, “Ikebukuro”.

A kitten kitchen.

Kitty profiles. Anzu looks like Kino. @_@

A Norweigen Forest Cat and a Main Coon! :D

But it made me miss Kino more than anything else. I had to fight back tears most of the time. -_-

My little buddy. I miss him terribly. ;-;

I really want a pet. Anything alive. At least a fish. They have little fish and things at the store outside of Nekobukuro. They had a 500 dollar rabbit. I kid you not. It looked like a normal rabbit. You can get one at the local shelter in Rancho for like 20 bucks! And the hamsters were like 40 bucks. Is that normal? And a 50 dollar frog. >.> At least the puffer fish was only a couple hundred yen.

Bike section in Tokyu Hands... for you Da-da!

I bought an umbrella on the way down. It has UV protection, and supposedly blocks out 99% of the rays. It is good for the rain too. I liked it because it is very compact-able, but at the same time, it is a pain in the butt. Yare, yare.ITS SO DARN HOT. There is a typhoon coming Wednesday though. Yay!

OMG I don’t know what my new neighbor is doing!!! I am leaning against my wall, and I keep feeling these big “bangs”! People were being so loud early in the hallway. Supposedly Chinese tourists. Augh.

After Tokyu Hands, I went and found contact solution! YAY! It is so cheap here. I got 480ml plus two contact cases of the same brand at home for 880 yen. It would be double the price in the states! I also had to stop and eat because I was dying and it was 3pm. I settled for Denny’s. -_-;;; It was okay, but not cheap enough. This kiwi sorbet was amazingly delicious and refreshing though!

SO freaking good! Heaven for ¥150.

The dessert menu.

After I ate I admitted defeat, and went home. Or at least I tried… I got lost. XD I got on the wrong train in Ikebukuro I think, went to Shinjuku, wandered around, finally found my way to a train bound for Yoyogi, and then FINALLY got to IIdabashi… but I almost didn’t get off the train. XD I dunno what happened. At the last minute I realized it was my stop and got off.

And then I came back and crashed.

Here’s a little update over the past few days:

I finished training. Doesn’t say much. The trainer was great but its really hard to become a confident teacher after 3 days of training and being introduced to completely new concepts. I believe I won’t start for a while, so I’m gonna study up.

While nearly everyone else left today, I am still in Tokyo. It is a blessing and a curse. I want my own bed. @_@ This bed is dreadful. I received a call from my branch yesterday, while I was trying to nap. >.> I am leaving Tuesday morning to go to Hitachi. Here is a map:

By train it is about an hour and a half. B is me now, A is Hitachi.

This is where my branch is. Interac’s main office is in Tokyo, and it depends on who gets the teaching contract. So one of the guys in my group is only like a few miles away from me, but he is under Tokyo. So I go by train on Tuesday, then on Thursday someone is driving me to Yamatsuri to take a look around and decide where I would like to live… >.> Yep, I don’t have a place yet. It is nice I have more choice, but I just want a home base. I am tired of wasting money on pre-made food too! (I didn’t eat dinner cause of that…) Then I come back to Hitachi, and after that, who knows.

So that is all I know for now. One day at a time it is. Tomorrow I am going to a church in Shibuya. It is in Japanese, with somehow translations in English. It is a very pretty church.

After that, I am going to take a picture of the Hachiko statue at Shibuya station, and wander around Harajuku and probably Harajuku park. It is Sunday, so hopefully I will see a bunch of people in cool fashion. :D

Wow its after 12am. I must be getting used to the time difference lol.

<3 Steph
