Okay, these Japanese commercials are really getting to me... -_-;;;
Anywhooooo, I had a WONDERFUL three day weekend. Monday was a holiday in Japan called "Umi no Hi" which means "Sea Day". I asked what the meaning was, and I was told because Japan is surrounded by water. Haha. XD
Sunday July 17th, 2011
So Sunday I went to church in Shibuya! I got lost at first because the road was above the station (ask me how I can't really tell you). I was supposed to go up some steps, but I didn't know. So I went down a street, and ended up turning around in a circle. >.>
The church was really pretty! When I was sitting down, a girl came up to me and introduced herself. She then introduced me to a girl named Arum and another girl named Yumi. They had a section where I guy was translating the service into English, but I didn't really understand that (I should have, it was filled with foreigners haha) so I didn't sit there. It was okay, I understood most of it. Yumi offered to translate, but I thought it would be too distracting for the people around me. >.< At the end, a guy from the church, who as I understand it had only been attending for two months, was baptized. Everyone was so excited! It was pretty awesome.
After the service I was invited to eat. We walked to the convenience store and got food, and then came back and ate and talked. I met the pastor's wife. She is so pretty! And she has the cutest little girls: Sara (4) and Mei (2). It was very fun. Arum then invited me to come on Monday for a little party.
After we were finished, Arum offered to walk me to Harajuku. I was planning to go because I was nearby. We first went to Meiji Jingu Shrine on the way to Harajuku. (I had been there before so I didn't take pictures.) It was so darn hot. I learned that Arum came from Korea to study fashion. From what I understood, she is sorta doing an internship where she cuts patterns. On the way we saw people dressed in 50's fashion dancing. (Although I believe they were Swing dancing, haha.) So when we finally got to the famous Takeshita Street, it was so crowded. Harajuku on a Sunday is not a good thing. >.<

By the time we made it to the main strip, I wanted to go home. >.> It was SO HOT. You don't understand. Like people say they don't like wearing stockings in the humid weather, but they actually serve a good purpose. If you don't have them, you can feel the sweat rolling down your legs. @_@
So my original plan was to explore a bit, but it was too hot. So I kinda made a b-line for Body Line, a store that sells well priced Lolita fair. (Its a Tokyo street fashion.) I wasn't planning on buying anything, but I found a cute dress and a pinafore. Together they were less than ¥4000. I also bought a cute umbrella. It is pink with hearts, haha. XD
After Bodyline we headed back to the station, and I said goodbye. Its interesting, in Japan they seem to hug (if they hug at all) using this half hug pat thing. >.> But its better than nothing at all! :D
Okay, I'm tired. But I am going to do Monday too! Its a long one. @_@ I'm gonna do it on another thingy... Jya!
